A Day in the Park.

Sailing Boats at the Jardin du Luxembourg

So, after taking the bus from Avenue Victor Hugo, past the Trocadero, The Eiffel Tower, the Ecole Militaire, Les Invalides and Montparnasse we arrived at the Jardin du Luxembourg. We still don't know why there were a huge number of runners circumnavigating the gardens but we tried not to get in their way.
Our main objective was to sail a boat in the pond in front of the palace. Luckily the man who hired out the boats turned up just as we did. You can hire a boat for 30 minutes of fun.

The boats arrived just as we did....

Great fun this....

Watch Out! Poland crashes with another boat

Taking the boat back after a great time on the water.

Then it was time for a pedal-cart ride!
After the sailboats we found time for a hot chocolate and a crepe in the cafe in the gardens. Nearby we found these carts. There were also pony rides but these looked more fun. It was a little tricky pedalling uphill to start but we flew so fast downhill that it was difficult to stop at the finish line.

  1. Gemma will be most impressed when she sees the name of your boat, Madeleine. Her favourite thing in the world at the moment is her tiny turtle, called crystal. The boat racing looks exciting and you certainly gave your boats some interesting "adventures" on the water.
The pedal cars look rather dashing. Obviously no crash helmet laws in Paris. Did they have a horn or a bell?
We are looking forward to hearing about your next adventures. Lots of love, Nanna and Pop
