A lunch with altitude
We had been looking forward to our climb up the Eiffel Tower for many months. Daniel had been saving up his pocket money to pay for the ticket for the lift and Madeleine wanted to see the view from the top. Mum and Dad found that the best way to bypass the queues was to make a reservation at Brasserie 58 for lunch.
As our apartment was within walking distance from the tower we decided to make our way there on foot. Dad had discovered there was a famous Parisian street market along Avenue du President Wilson. We made a beeline for the crepe stall and each enjoyed a fresh crepe for breakfast/morning tea. Daniel was not keen on sharing any of his Nutella crepe and Madeleine enjoyed hers with confiture de fraises.
Near the Eiffel tower there are not one but two carousels! A quick merry-go-round ride was thus in order before lunch. Mum and Dad thought the stationary bicycles beside the carousel were great. We thought that the faster you pedalled, the faster the carousel might go around.
Lunch at 58 Tour Eiffel was on the first level overlooking the Trocadero. We all enjoyed a fabulous meal from our window seat. Then it was time to walk up the stairs to the second level. Daniel was disappointed that you could not walk to the very top and that you needed to take a lift. After a short wait for the small lift we reached the very top and marvelled at the view.
The lift took us back down to the second level but we took their stairs from there..... a great family visit.

After our visit to the Eiffel tower we walked across the river to the Cite de l'architecture e du patrimoine.... a fabulous architecture museum. Here we explored replicas of buildings, statues and magnificent stonework.

What great photos! The views are quite stunning and you have done some amazing things.
ReplyDeleteYou seem to be becoming connoisseurs of crepes and hot chocolate. Auntie Jo really enjoyed chatting to you tonight and we showed her all of the blogs. She loved the virtual tour of the Villa. We'll look at the photos again tomorrow as Grace and Oliver will want to see them. Lots of love, Nanna and Pop
